Start thinking about how you tackled a problem, boosted sales, secured new clients, won awards, reduced a cycle time, increased efficiency, launched new products…the list of possibilities is endless. Everyone has something to contribute to an employer or they wouldn’t have been hired. Ideally, you should have one STAR story per year of employment. What was the measurable end result ($, %, time saved)?.What was the situation that you were assigned / tackled?.The goal is to focus on these 4 key questions: STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result. The difference between a lacklustre document and a winning resume is the emphasis on career achievements or as I like to call them, STAR stories.
